Fluffy’s New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year! As we start a new year, many people are reflecting back on 2018, and setting new priorities for themselves. If you have a kitty, your feline pal will be right by your side—or perhaps on your lap—as you strive to meet your new goals. Actually, Fluffy may even have a few resolutions in mind for herself. A Mt. Airy, MD vet lists a few of them below.

Soak Up The Sun

Kitties are chock full of adorable quirks. We may never entirely sort out Fluffy’s box obsession, or find out why she’s so sleepy. One thing we do know, however, is that our feline friends really like sunbathing. Your pet may even schedule her naps so she can snooze in her favorite sunbeam!

Supervise The Humans

Cats are very curious. Okay, they’re actually downright nosy. Fluffy may follow you around from room to room, keeping a close eye on you. Some kitties even follow their humans into the bathroom!

Help Around The House

Kitties may be a bit temperamental, but they actually are quite grateful for the love, care, and food we offer them. Your pet may try to repay your kindness by assisting you with things like changing the sheets, wrapping gifts, keeping your laundry warm, and clearing off the coffee table.

Achieve The Purrfect Pounce

Cats are very athletic and limber, but those butt-wiggle/run/jump/pounce combinations can be tricky. Help your kitty achieve this goal by making sure she has lots of toys, and taking time to play with her regularly.

Get Plenty of Rest

It’s probably safe to say that your little furball won’t have a hard time with this one! Cats can sleep up to 20 hours a day. Your drowsy pet may want to beat her 2018 napping record, or try some new positions or sleeping spots. Offer your furry pal lots of comfy beds to help her meet this goal.

World Domination

Have you ever wondered why there are so many cat memes, videos, and pictures on the internet? Is Fluffy plotting world domination? We can’t say for sure, but we do know that many of our feline patients have their humans wrapped around their little paws!
