Critical Care

Do you know who to call in the event of a pet emergency?

As a caring pet parent, you never want to see your four-legged family member in distress. Unfortunately, unexpected illnesses and sudden accidents happen. At Taylorsville Veterinary Clinic, we want you to know that you’ve got a dedicated team of experienced professionals in your corner.

Our hospital is equipped to administer life-saving critical care at a moment’s notice. With staff members who are skilled in emergency medicine, we can quickly diagnose the problem and deliver timely and effective care. Most importantly, we’ll handle your loved one’s case with the utmost compassion, doing everything possible to achieve a positive outcome.

Some of the signs that your pet may need urgent medical attention include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Ingestion of a toxic substance or foreign object
  • Broken bones
  • Cuts, lacerations or puncture wounds
  • Vomiting or diarrhea lasting longer than 24 hours
  • Bleeding
  • Trauma, such as from a fall or being hit by a car
  • Swollen or tender abdomen
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Lameness
  • Disorientation
  • Foaming at the mouth
  • Convulsions/seizures
  • Loss of consciousness

If you notice any of these signs, seek help right away. At Taylorsville Veterinary Clinic, we always recommend calling ahead when an emergency occurs. This allows us to assess the situation, provide first aid instructions and prepare the hospital and our team for your pet’s arrival. Of course, should the nature of the emergency be too urgent for a phone call, don’t hesitate to come directly in for immediate attention.

We sincerely hope you never face the need for emergency veterinary care. If you do, however, we want you to know who to call. The team at Taylorsville Veterinary Clinic will be here to provide the highest level of care available.
