Thanksgiving is right around the corner. We all have many things to be thankful for, with family and friends at the top of the list. However, our feline buddies are also on that list. A local Westminster, MD vet lists some reasons to be grateful for kitties in this article.
Kitty Snuggles
Kitties are purrfect cuddle buddies, in part because they are so fond of falling asleep on their humans. Fluffy is also a pretty good sleep aid. It’s very relaxing to settle in with your furball on your lap!
Purrs
While cuddles are great, the purr is what makes Fluffy’s snuggles extra special. In fact, kitty purrs have some amazing properties. They are a great source of comfort in hard times, and can help people battle anxiety, PTSD, and depression. They can even help promote healing!
Entertainment
Cats are full of adorable quirks, many of which are quite entertaining to watch. Fluffy is super cute when she is pouncing on a catnip mouse, or chasing after that elusive red dot! Combine that with kitties’ adorable meows and silly antics, and you have the purrfect furry, four-legged source of entertainment!
Love
Cats have worked very hard to make us think that they’re aloof, but they’re actually very emotional little furballs. Kitties get quite attached to their humans! Our feline friends show their love in a variety of adorable—if somewhat perplexing—ways. You may find that your heart melts a bit when Fluffy looks up at you with love and adoration in her eyes, or when she jumps into your lap for snuggles.
Cleanliness
There are many things to love about cats, but one of the best things about them is the fact that they are so clean. Fluffy will use a litterbox to relieve herself, and she’ll clean herself every day. That’s a definite bonus!
Mousing Skills
This one may not rank as high on the list as it once did, but’s it’s still worth noting. Plenty of people who live in rural areas—especially those with farms or barns—are quite thankful for Fluffy’s hunting skills! Of course, there are lots of folks who aren’t exactly thrilled when their furry pals leave ‘gifts’ on their steps, but that’s just ‘purr’ for the course.
